Book tour: The Little Village of Happiness - Holly Martin

Willow McKay needs a fresh start. Her recent break-up may not have left her heartbroken but it’s certainly wounded her pride. Desperate to escape the whispers and stares of her town’s gossips, an advert offering homes in a picturesque village in the grounds of a majestic castle on the Cornish coast sounds like just what she needs. Without thinking twice Willow applies for a cottage and packs up her life for the village of Happiness.

But when Willow arrives she finds a crumbling ruin and ramshackle cottages, nothing like the pretty picture the advert had boasted. It seems Happiness was too good to be true. That is until she meets the incredibly handsome estate manager Andrew Harrington…

His passion for restoring the village to its former glory is contagious and soon they are working together to bring happiness back to Happiness. And as sparks fly between them Willow can feel herself falling. But Andrew is holding something back.

Can Willow risk her heart again? And will they succeed in transforming the old village to its original beauty before it’s too late?

My opinion.
Ah Holly, you've gone and done it again. How easily you make me fall in love with yet another wonderful town its colourful characters.
Willow must be one of my favourite female leads in a romance novel to date. She has a great sense of humor that had me smiling throughout and a very loving and caring nature. Something about her just made me click with her instantly. I'm usually head of over heals for Holly's male leads after just a couple of chapters. Or sentences. But this time it was "the girl" who stole the show, for me.
That being said, Andrew Harrington is a very lovable, sexy, and interesting hero I loved getting to know through these pages. A man who's good with his hands (as in: DIY and construction, you filthy minds) is always sexy. Combine that with a heart of gold and very sensitive, caring side? Consider me smitten! I also really liked his backstory. Without giving anything away about what that is, I'm so relieved that it is more/something other than just another broken heart and trust issues because of a failed relationship in the past. There's more to Andrew than just a hesitation to get his heart broken. It not only gives him an extra layer as a character, it also brings so much more depth to the rest of the story as well.
Together, Andrew and Willow have a great chemistry, a lot of laughs and a great enthusiasm to bring change to their little village.
Holly Martin made me fall completely and utterly in love with the gorgeous little village of 'Happiness' and it's wonderful characters. What started with me picking up the book "just to start on the first few chapters", turned into almost finishing the book in one sitting - not caring at all about the short night's sleep, or about my arms going numb from holding the book! I laughed out loud and cried... a lot.
You cannot leave on holiday without this gorgeous Holly Martin book in your suitcase. Another must-read from the amazingly talented Holly Martin!
