Book review: Thirteen Weddings - Paige Toon

Another scintillating tale from the bestselling author of The Longest Holiday and Lucy in the Sky.

Last year, Bronte left Sydney for a wedding in England, where she met newly single Alex. After a night of passion they parted ways, and Bronte returned to Australia.

Now working on a picture desk for a magazine in London, Bronte is about to meet her new colleague, who turns out to be all too familiar. Although awkward at first, as Alex is now engaged to the girl he was on a break from when they met, they soon become friends.
But as the two get closer, and the wedding day looms, it is clear that Alex and Bronte have unfinished business.

A charming bittersweet novel from the author of The Longest Holiday.

My opinion.
Bronte is a fun, easy to relate to main character and she has some pretty fab girl friends. It was great getting to know her, her dreams and her fears and to join her on this new adventure. Throughout the book I changed my mind about the possible plot lines a few times, both career wise and about her love life, but Paige Toon kept surprising me until the very last page. Thirteen Weddings has it all. It's funny, flirty, romantic,.. It has the forbidden attraction, the "new hot guy", the fabulous (drunk) girlfriends and the glamorous job.
I can't believe I waited this long to read a Paige Toon novel. Already deciding which one of her fabulous books to read next - I'm a fan!

[Spoiler alert - only read this part if you already read the book] I'm glad I didn't know who Bronte would end up with, 'cause I wouldn't have liked the news before I finished the book. I was very much team A., but I'm so happy with the plot and how everything turned out. Bronte was right about her and A. and I'm proud of her for making that decision ;-)
