Book review: The Christmas Wish - Katy Regnery (Heart of Montana #1.5)

The Christmas Wish
The blurb.
Waitress Tess Branson has earned a bad reputation, and the nickname “Fast Tessie,” as result of her poor judgement where men are concerned. She learned from a young age that men – of all ages – were only interested in one thing, which has made Tess distrustful even though she yearns for love.

Lucas Flynn, the short order cook at the restaurant where Tess works, has just been released on parole. After committing a terrible crime and losing someone he loved, he’s trying to get his life back on track. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a kind, pretty waitress who has problems of her own.

Tess makes a wish on a star one wintry night, but it's going to take a heap of Christmas magic to help it come true!

My opinion.
44 pages was all it took for me to fall in love with Lucas. There's just something about Lucas Flynn, indeed... It's incredibly romantic and touching to see how much he, the most unlikely person to be a gentleman considering his history, cares for Tess. He understands her when she doesn't even seem to realize herself who she is and what she wants in live.

Tess has earned herself a bad reputation. And quite frankly, she really did behave like a tramp in the past. Easy to judge, you'd think. But Lucas sees something in her despite that reputation and he forces both you, the reader, and Tess herself to see the person inside.

I think we all want to believe in wishing on a star... especially at Christmastime and Katy brings that Christmas magic to live in this very moving, heart warming romance.
